It is designed as a walking guide and there are thirteen walks which take the reader through many of the most interesting parts of the city. There are also tours of nine of the city`s graveyards. Over seven hundred places are described in the book and numerous buildings of architectural interest are included. As well as a detailed article on the city`s architecture there are special articles on our two best-known architects, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Alexander Thomson. All their Glasgow buildings are described in the book. Many of the places described in the book are included in The Scotland Guide. |
